The EV Charging Expansion Project is funded by court order and provides qualifying recipients free level-two electric vehicle chargers and complimentary installation to qualifying locations across the United States.
By providing free chargers and complimentary installation, the Project will enable electric vehicle owners to recharge their vehicles at recipients' locations while increasing awareness of both the convenience and everyday drivability of a battery electric vehicle while helping to address gaps in the American public charging network.
Recipient Contributions
Dedicated and visible EV parking spaces for vehicles
Frequent visual checks of equipment and charging area
Financial coverage for electricity consumed
Recipient Benefits
Qualifying locations selected for participation will receive free level-two chargers and complimentary installation. Beyond having a beneficial impact on the environment, additional recipient benefits may include:
Boosting your brand or site's appeal and value as a charging provider within the EV community
Promoting a new amenity to all your guests or customers as the hardware is compatible with all EV models capable of utilizing a standard Type 1 J1772 plug
Increasing your business's visibility and reach additional customers by emphasizing your support for a more sustainable lifestyle
Eligibility
Charging of electric vehicles typically happens at one's home. However, anywhere people usually spend more than an hour can be an ideal location for battery-electric vehicle chargers, and this Project is focused on improving the electric vehicle public charging infrastructure. With this in mind, we invite any business or publicly-accessible facility to apply, including but not limited to:
hotels
restaurants
shopping centers
sports stadiums and arenas
civic and cultural sites
parks and recreational areas
commercial real estate developments
concert and entertainment venues
public event spaces
There is no purchase necessary to participate. Private residences are not eligible to apply and do not qualify for the EV Charging Expansion Project. All applications received will be vetted by the Project Management Team to ensure the sites' participation supports the overall usability of battery electric vehicles and the Project's mission.
